Criteria for recieving Crew wristbands

This section only applies to COPENHELL volunteers
(Troopers, Fighters, Warriors, Hellraisers & Hardcore Helpers)

It is important that you pay attention to our new criteria for receiving crew wristbands as listed below here:

Citizens of Denmark, Switzerland and other EU/EAA-countries:

As a citizen of Denmark, Switzerland or another EU/EAA-country, I understand that there are the following options for providing valid identification when collecting my Crew wristband:

  • Valid passport or official identification card* (Danish identification cards must be issued after March 1st, 2018) in physical format.
  • Color image of a valid passport or official identification card* (Danish identification cards must be issued after March 1st, 2018) PLUS a secondary ID (driver’s license or healthcare card) in physical format or in official app format to verify the validity of the color image of the passport or official identification card.

If you cannot present any of the above when collecting your Crew wristband, we reserve the right to deny you access to the festival site.

*What is an official identification card?

An official identification card is a personal ID-card, issued by the Local Government Authorities (Borgerservice in Denmark). It can be seen as a passport alternative. It is NOT a driver’s license or a healthcare card.

Therefore, please note, that a driver’s license, a healthcare card, or a combination of the two, is NOT valid identification.

For Danish citizens, you can order an official identification card here.

Other countries:
As a citizen of a country other than Denmark, Switzerland, or an EU/EEA country, I understand that I must upload a valid passport and a Danish issued residence- and work permit (both front and back page) when creating an account in HEAP. I also understand that I need to present the same passport and residence- and work permit in physical form, when receiving my wristband.

If you cannot present the above when collecting your wristband, we reserve the right to deny you access to the festival site.

* Please note that there are residence- and work permits from other EU countries that allow residence and work throughout the EU.  These are NOT accepted by the Danish authorities and a residence and work permit must therefore be issued by a Danish authority before it is valid.

FAQ:

Why is my driver’s license not valid identification?

  • We not only look for a matching picture and name, but we also check your citizenship. We check this, because we need to confirm your right to work in Denmark.
Citizenship is not included on driver’s licenses and health cards – it’s only included on official identification cards and passports.

Why do you need to confirm my citizenship/right to work in Denmark?

  • Since COPENHELL is a for-profit festival, we need to adhere to the same rules for international workers, as other companies – and this includes volunteers. So, let’s help each other! If you have friends volunteering as well, remind them to bring their identification 😉

What if I don’t have a valid passport?

  • You have two options: Contact the Local Government Authorities (Borgerservice) to get a passport or contact the Local Government Authorities (Borgerservice) to get an official identification card. The identification card is usually a lot cheaper than a passport! And REMEMBER to book an appointment early – we have experienced long waiting periods.

Why does my Danish identification card need to be issued after March 1st, 2018?

  • Earlier, Danish identification cards did not include the citizenship. That was changed, and the cards issued after March 1st, 2018, now include citizenship.

I don’t know, if my Danish work permit covers working as a volunteer at COPENHELL?

  • We do not have the capacity to advice on individual cases, so we recommend speaking with your contact at SIRI, who can instruct you on the rules, for your specific type of permit.
